I am really loving my Chai Kombucha at the moment. All those great flavors of cinnamon, Cardamom, cloves, ginger and nutmeg. I don’t usually like chia tea but when fermented I just love it.
It is the same process as normal Kombucha just using Chai tea bags. I use the Planet Organic Chai spice.
When using anything other than plan teabags it is always good to have a backup SCOBY in case things don’t go well.
Make sure the tea you use for this hasn’t got sugar added or oils or flavorings. It should be purely black tea and spices
Do not brew for too long as the spices can go rancid if left to brew past 7-14 days.
Lastly always err on the side of caution. If it looks, tastes or smells unpleasant the whole lot will need to be thrown.
